HISTORICAL COSTUME

2019

This personal project is a reconstruction of a traditional folk costume from Cracow, reimagined entirely in white. The shape and construction are based on extensive costume research. The holes in the cotton are manually punched to mimic traditional lace. The crown is adorned with beads and silicone leaves. The entire costume is covered with an invisible print that glows green in the dark. The prints were hand-carved on a linocut plate and then transferred onto the fabric.
